eBay Experience

By selfemployedblog | February 9, 2006

Anyone who has dreamed of working from home has more than likely stumbled across a well known marketplace called eBay. Ebay can be a great starting point for anyone who has something to sell. If you’re willing to do more research, you can even find a good list of wholesale distributors, and buy wholesale products to resell at a profit.

That is exactly what I did. I found a local wholesaler in my area and I started out all of my listings as auctions. This format became expensive for me fast. The fees added up fast and it was risky listing an item for too low a price because most people wait to the very last minutes of the auction to bid. Then I turned to the eBay store. This format was a lot more cost effective for me as my listings typically cost 1 - 3 cents to post. The basic store cost $15.95 per month.

All I can say is if you want to delve into eBay as a source of income, do your research. There is money to be made if you have the right product(s). I suggest starting with the discussion forums on eBay. There is a wealth of information in them, especially for the newbies.
