I don't have a definite answer, however, from my own experience with new sites it can take as long as a week to get indexed. If you can get backlinks from web sites with high pagerank that will speed up the process. In the mean time, just keep posting as the more often you post, the more the search engines will crawl the site.

I just started my blog a few days ago. It's a record of my journey - a 'should I be self employed or shouldn't I' piece. I've been posting 2 articles a day and would like to ask how long it takes for the search engines to actually index the site.

Yes, Eartha, a flagship blog is key, although a true labor of love!

Mine had been operational for about a month and is still getting my "sea legs" like the sailors say.

One blogging pro I follow occasionally is Yaro Starak (not a plug, he's good!) He talks a bout "pillar articles: there are 6 or 7 pillars, one about you, one about your market, one about your solutions, etc.

So that might be another resource for your readers for their flagship blogs.

Check my Blog out if you get a chance, I'd be interested in your thoughts. It's www.DoWhatYouLike.com.

PS, I like how you formatted your blog layout, nice and clean!
