My Home Office Essentials

Since setting up my home office, I have come to realize some of the equipment and tools I can’t work without. I have my basics which are:

  1. Desk - nice size, sturdy, and a place to hold your computer tower is handy. My desk includes this feature. Enough space to hold a monitor, speakers, pen/pencil holder. I have no drawers which is good thing for me as I would just clutter it up with useless junk.
  2. Fax Machine - I may be a little old school because some people send & receive faxes over the internet. I love my fax machine. It is a plain paper fax with telephone. It makes copies as well. I bought it really cheap on eBay. It was listed as “refurbished” but is literally brand new.
  3. Printer - I have a basic Epson Stylus that works great. I also buy my printer ink on eBay at a discount.
  4. Desk Lamp - I don’t like anything too bulky so I have a small, adjustable desk lamp.
  5. Chair - I am thinking of buying a better, more ergonomic desk chair. I’m tending to feel back pain every now and then. A new chair is on my wish list.

I also use my cell phone as my business phone as I don’t want clients calling my home phone at all hours. (Some call as late at 11pm). I don’t mind since I’m usually up anyway. But at least with the cell phone, I can at least place it on vibrate as to not disturb anyone else.
