If there is one thing that most people have a hard time getting a handle on, it is staying organized. I am a big reader of self-help/personal development books and so far the ones that I've read all mention some of the common things we tend to forget to do and they are setting goals and getting organized. Now that the new year has come, I think it's about time that I put more effort into my resolutions. I've got all of my goals written down and I review them almost everyday so that I stay on track with achieving them. One of my main priorities is to plan the night before what I intend on accomplishing the next day.
Most days my time can easily get eaten up from distractions. I can spend hours replying to emails, instant messaging, phone calls, internet browsing, etc. before I get any real work done. In order to get myself together, I have begun implementing a free "to do list" tool called Toodledo. There is a "pro" version that is really inexpensive at $14.95 per year. I haven't used it long enough to want to upgrade. It is a simple tool which I love. I hardly need anything more complicated to add to my day.
Toodledo.com is an easy to use, web-based to-do list. Keeping track of all your tasks will help you avoid disorganization, stay motivated and be more productive.
