I know that Secrets of the Millionaire Mind: Mastering the Inner Game of Wealth has been around for years but I only came across it recently when browsing books at the library. I checked it out and finished it within a few days.
I recommend this book for anyone who wants to stretch in terms of their mindset. I believe our mindsets play a huge role in whether or not we succeed in what we want to do. That is why I was impressed with this book. The author T. Harv Eker is a millionaire but went through a period of having success then failure, over and over, until he changed his mindset.
Good Points About the Book
Besides reading about the author's personal story, my favorite part were the 17 principles in which he points out how the rich think differently from the poor. Examples include: rich people believe that they create their life, while poor people believe "life happens to me." Rich people focus on opportunities, while poor people focus on obstacles. Rich people act in spite of fear, while poor people let fear stop them. Rich people constantly learn and grow, while poor people think they know enough. [Source: Amazon review]
Many of the beliefs I had about money were addressed as well. How many of us grew up with beliefs such as "money is the root of all evil" or "rich people are greedy"? These types of beliefs are still held by many people who want more out of life and find it difficult to get past those limiting beliefs.
One Bad Point About the Book
The only negative point that some people may not like is that the author mentions his seminar quite often throughout the book. However, the information is so good that it didn't annoy me as much as it may annoy someone else. I just finished another book which was much worse in terms of self-promotion.
Overall, it was a fun read and I highly recommend it. I know it has definitely helped me to change my beliefs about money and wealth.
