Two Basic but Important SEO Tips

Most recently, traffic on one of my blogs went down significantly. I get most traffic from Google and I was doing fairly well for quite some time when all of a sudden, traffic dropped to a point where I felt panic. I went to Google’s webmaster tools and immediately saw what was wrong.
I had errors in both my sitemap.xml and my robots.txt files. I remembered I had updated both a couple of weeks ago and it didn’t dawn on me to check back to see if any errors had been produced. My traffic has fizzled out but I’m hoping fixing the errors will get my site back on track.
With this in mind, make sure you have a sitemap file as well as a robots.txt file. You can learn more about both below:
